London Irish Parade Scheduled for March 17th, 2008
2008 St. Patrick's Day Parades in the State
or Connecticut
New London, CT, March 2, 2008 – The First Annual New London Irish
Parade is scheduled to take place in downtown New London on March 17th
beginning at 1:00 pm. The theme for this year’s event is “Little Parade,
Big Party”, and as such, plans for the parade to begin at 1:00 pm from State
and South Water Streets. The Grand Marshals for the event are United States
Representative Joe Courtney and New London Mayor Kevin Cavanagh. The parade
will proceed up State Street ending at Meridian Street where the street will
be closed off to traffic for the post-parade celebration where two heated
tents will be setup on State Street. The post-parade party includes eight
hours of live entertainment from local talents including Spirited Soles
Irish Step Dance Group, Flowers and Kain, Carl Nivrus, Elevation, among
others.

ABOUT NEW LONDON IRISH PARADE COMMITTEE – The New London Irish Parade
Committee is a grassroots group of New London proprietors, property owners,
and concerned citizens who seek to honor Celtic and Gaelic traditions while
highlighting New London businesses and local charm. The inaugural members
