London) Wisconsin
Saint Patrick's Day Parade

March 15, 2008 -
The Grand Parade is at 1:00 pm with Irish Fest
at 11:00 am
to 6:00 pm.
It
is estimated that more than twenty five thousand people converge upon New
London each year for Saturday’s Grand Parade. The parade is the largest St.
Patrick’s Day parade in Wisconsin with many unique entries that include
marching & bagpipe bands, and clan & business floats. There are over 100
units.
Irish Fest is held under a huge heated big top tent and
features two Celtic bands along with Irish food, beverages, and market
booths. It’s great fun for the whole family.
There are many weekday activities and events preceding
the parade and Irish Fest. Corned
beef and cabbage is served throughout the week at local restaurants and
there are evenings that include Irish Caroling, local Irish Entertainment,
an Irish Wake,
and an Irish Ceili.

The legendary St. Patrick’s Day festivities officially
begin each year when leprechauns of the local Shamrock Club rename the city
of New London, Wisconsin to ‘New Dublin’ for the week.
The festivities are presented each year by the Shamrock
Club of New Dublin. Their purpose is to bring together individuals of Irish
descent or relationship (or those that wish they were) for the purpose of
celebrating being Irish.
Come to 'New Dublin' this
March for the Grand Parade, Irish Fest, and daily activities!
