The St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee of the
Eastchester Irish-American Social Club will honor its Grand Marshal,
Margaret McGorty Colavita, at its 4th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on
March 16th, 2008 .
Step off is at 3:00 p.m. from Immaculate Conception
Church in Tuckahoe marching up Main Street to Lake Isle Country Club.

Eastchester’s 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The
Eastchester Irish American Social Club (EIASC) is proud to sponsor
Eastchester’s 4th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday March
16th, 2008 at 3:00pm.
We are excited to announce this year’s Grand Marshal will be Mrs. Margaret
McGorty Colavita. Margaret’s family hails from Counties Lietrim, Offaly and
Monahan in Ireland. She has been a successful businesswoman in the
Eastchester community for over thirty years and a long-standing member of
the EIASC. Margaret is a member of several organizations and committees in
Westchester County. She is an Executive Board member of The Community Fund
of Bronxville, Tuckahoe and Eastchester and on the Board of Directors for
the Eastchester and Tuckahoe Chamber of Commerce.
Margaret’s sons John F. Colavita and Anthony S. Colavita and her daughter
Christine Colavita Latara will serve as Aides to the Grand Marshal. Her son
Anthony is the current Town Supervisor of Eastchester.
Brenda Geraghty and Mary Hyland will be Honorees. Brenda was raised in
Eastchester has been a past president of the EIASC. Her father, Larry Nangle,
was a founding member of the EIASC. Mary Hyland hails from County Cork in
Ireland and has been a member of the EIASC for nearly 40 years. Her husband
James was also a founding EIASC member.
The 2008 parade will begin at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe,
march north on Route 22 and end at the Lake Isle Country Club. The parade is
one of the fastest growing in Westchester County and will feature over 15
marching bands including 8 bagpipe bands and over 50 marching groups.
